Phil Wittliff is an independent rock artist whose work combines strong pop songwriting with the influence of blues and rock. His vocals and sound have been compared to Neil Young, Don Henley, and Brad Paisley, and his distinctive delivery earned him the nickname “Acoustic Crooner” during his years performing nightly shows in college. He began performing original material at age 14 and later formed the PJ Whitehorse band, a trio that blended contemporary country songwriting with Southern blues, grunge, and lead-guitar-driven rock. He served as the band’s primary songwriter, lead guitarist, and vocalist before transitioning to a solo career to tour and develop new material. After years of writing and performing internationally, he assembled his new band and recorded his latest album at Steve Albiniʼs “Electrical Audio Studios” in Chicago. His songs have received radio and playlist support in more than 28 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, where he recently toured extensively. In June, he will perform on the Briggs & Stratton Big Backyard stage at Milwaukee’s iconic Summerfest with his new five-piece band, opening for Atlantic Records artist and American Idol alum Cameron Whitcomb
